45°  Thin film polarizer are designed such that upon incidence the s-polarized light will be reflected at a 45° angle while the p-polarized light is transmitted. Therefore, these beam splitters can be thought of as a 45° high reflector with the two reflection bands offset to allow high transmission of the p-polarized component and simultaneous high reflectance of the s-polarized component.


45°  Thin film polarizer offer distinct advantages compared to cube beam splitters. They exhibit superior tolerance to High Damage Threshold without any distortion and are designed without optical adhesive, enabling enhanced energy output.


Unlike conventional polarizing beam splitters intended for Brewster's angle, these 45°  Thin film polarizer are specifically designed for use at a 45° angle of incidence (AOI), simplifying the mounting process.Widely used in Ti:sapphire and Yb:doped Ultrafast Lasers.
